Frequently Asked Questions

1. I followed the steps but I can't connect my Gmail account?

  • If you're logged into multiple Gmail accounts in Chrome, open an incognito window and try connecting again.

  • If you still can't connect in incognito mode, change your Chrome cookie settings at chrome://settings/cookies. Select "Allow all cookies" or "Block third-party cookies in incognito mode". Reload the page after changing settings.

  • If you continue to see error messages, ensure "Pop-ups and redirects" are enabled in your browser. Go to chrome://settings/content and allow pop-ups for any Wednesday site listed.

2. Why are my emails scheduled for next week?

Gmail imposes a strict limit rate in terms of messages sent. Hence we can only send one email every 3 minutes 45 seconds. When you have multiples mailings running at the same time, this delay is imposed across all mailings sharing the same email provider (i.e. Gmail account). So your emails are queued and send out later.

3. What happened when my Gmail account got blocked after sending 200+ emails via the mailing tool, despite having a 2k email limit on GSuite?

Your Gmail account was likely blocked because multiple recipients reported your emails as spam. When GSuite receives notifications that emails are marked as "Spam" multiple times, it tends to block the sender's account to protect its users.

4. What should I do if my email is tagged as spam?

  1. Immediately stop the mailing to prevent further spam reports.

  2. Wait for 24 hours and use your email as usual to reset its reputation.

  3. Improve and recreate the mailing, then send it to influencers who have not yet received the email.

  4. If your account remains blocked, it may be due to your email's IP having a bad reputation, often seen with new or long-inactive email addresses. You can request your Email Service Provider (ESP) to change your IP or switch to a new email.

5. How can I prevent my Gmail account from being blocked again?

  1. Read and follow ESP guidelines carefully to avoid being tagged as spam.

  2. Avoid lengthy subject lines, using images in the email body, and trigger words that could lead to spam classification.

  3. Familiarize yourself with and avoid using trigger words in your emails.

  4. Understand and practice warming up your IP address. Gradually increase the volume of emails sent out to build a good sending reputation.

Remember, the key to avoiding blocks and spam tags is to progressively build your email activity and adhere closely to best practices and guidelines set by email service providers.

6. Why do my Gmail accounts keep disconnecting?

One of the main reasons is that the Gmail account was suspended due to violating " generating or facilitating unsolicited bulk commercial email”.

We have a system in place to prevent this from happening (we send each email every 3 to 4 minutes). Unfortunately, in some cases, users are suspended because other reasons are involved:

  • It's a new email address. The newer the email is, the more you need to "warm-up" the email address.

  • You are using other mailing services on the side

  • You sent a lot of emails with this same email outside of Wednesday

  • Influencers have reported the emails sent by the you for spamming

There is not much we can do in this case. One solution is to create a new inbox or change for another email. You have to make sure to correctly warm up the new email address.

7. How to warm up an email address?

Send a small number of emails and increase it slowly. On the first day send around 20 emails, then the next day sends 40 emails, etc … It’s important to increase slowly the amount of emails to not trigger Gmail again.

One thing to also consider is to modify your email content to look less “commercial” or “spammy”.

8. How many Gmail accounts can I connect on one Wednesday account?

You don’t have a limit on the Gmail account you connect to Wednesday.

9. Will the emails sent through Gmail utilize Wednesday SMTP servers or my own IP address?

The emails sent through Gmail with an integration utilize Gmail's servers. To protect your sender score, it is recommended to use Wednesday's mailing system.
